Beautiful Lakes of Color

There are a lot of beautiful lakes all over the world. They come in a wide range of colors that aren’t usually associated with water. The different shades of color add a new depth to the already beautiful scenery around these lakes. So, please join us on our trip as we go all over the world and visit beautiful and colorful lakes.

List of Beautiful Lakes of Color:

Band-e Amir

Band-e Amir is a group of six clear blue lakes high in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush Mountains. In 2008, it became the first national park in Afghanistan. Mineral-rich water seeped out of cracks and faults in the rocky landscape to make the beautiful lakes. The strong and different colors of the lake water are also caused by the high mineral content of the lakes.

Laguna Verde

In the southwest of Bolivia’s high hills is a saltwater lake called Laguna Verde. Those of you who speak Spanish won’t be surprised that the water in the Laguna Verde (Green Lagoon) is an amazing shade of green. It is at the base of the Licancabur Volcano, and its beautiful green color comes from copper layers in the ash. People also know about the beautiful area around the colored lake and its hot springs.

Lake Pukaki

In New Zealand’s Lake Pukaki, the color “glacier blue” takes on a whole new meaning. Years ago, when the glaciers melted, they left behind a colored lake. Today, that glacier feed makes glacier flour, which is small pieces of finely ground rock that give the lake its icy blue color. Lake Pukaki is the second biggest mountain lake in New Zealand’s South Island’s Mackenzie Basin.

Laguna Colorada

The Laguna Colorada is in Bolivia, not far from where it meets the border with Chile. The reddish color of the water comes from the red sediments and plants that live in it. In addition to the red water, the Laguna Colorada is home to many different kinds of birds and several white islands made of borax. Borax islands are made when seasonal lakes like Laguna Colorada dry up over and over again.

Kelimutu

There are three different-colored lakes at the top of the Kelimutu Volcano. Most of the time, Tiwu Ata Mbupu is blue, Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai is green, and Tiwu Ata Polo is a pinkish color. Fumaroles, which are holes in the earth’s rock, are thought to be the cause of the unique color mix. Beautiful lakes are a popular place for tourists to visit, and scientists come every year to study them. The fact that the three lakes are all different colors but are all on the same volcano crest is a topic of much discussion and interest.

Havasu Falls

The Havasu Canyon is part of the Grand Canyon. The Havasupai tribe lives in the small town of Supai, which is near the canyon. It is one of the most remote towns in the United States, and most people get there by taking a helicopter or walking on a dusty horse trail for 13 km (8 mi) from a parking lot at Hualapai Hilltop.

People go to the Havasupai (which means “people of the blue-green water”) because of the beautiful waters and falls. Havasu Falls is the most beautiful of these places. The beautiful color of the water comes from carbonate minerals that have settled to the bottom, making it white and reflecting the green and brown mossy cliffs and blue sky around it.

Moraine Lake

The mountains that feed Moraine Lake in Banff National Park give it its beautiful blue water. The color comes from the way light bends when it hits the ice. The beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains are all around Moraine Lake, which is in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Around Moraine Lake, there are several hiking tracks. Just make sure to check the road conditions before you go, because grizzly bears sometimes keep people from going on certain trails.

Because there is a lot of algae in the lake, a lot of lesser flamingos come there, sometimes more than a million at once. Flamingos are often called the best bird show on earth because they turn the shores pink. Because of pollution and damage to the environment, the number of flamingos has been declining in recent years.

Jiuzhaigou

In China’s Jiuzhaigou Valley, there are a lot of blue, green, and turquoise lakes. These bodies of water are called “Haizi,” which in Chinese means “son of the sea.” Glaciers made many beautiful lakes, and today, many waterfalls pour their clean water into these lakes. People say that the water is very clear and beautiful and that they can often see to the bottom of the lakes.

Plitvice Lakes

The Plitvice Lakes are one of the best places to visit in Croatia. They are a group of sixteen lakes that are close to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The unique colors of the beautiful lakes, such as azure, green, blue, and gray, are well known. The colors of the lakes change all the time, based on how much minerals, sediment, or organisms are in each body of water or how the sun is shining on the water.
